i don't remember exactly when i found it as my creative go-to, but snapping pictures has always been a part of my life in some way. my family used to love to shoot with slide film and show off family pictures with a whole slide projector setup (we still have BOXES of slides i plan on scanning at some point...but there's so many...).
whatever sparked my interest to get into photography, at this point it's very much my happy place. nature photography is my favorite form of this hobby; of course i [carefully] trip over myself whenever there's a cool creature to find and take a picture of, especially bugs since they're the least fussy about getting their picture taken. regardless of the subject, there's a handful of 'rules' or criteria i try to meet for myself when taking a photo with intent; finding an interesting perspective, finding some natural frame or pattern to compose the shot into, and does the end result make me happy.
most editing i do is pretty minimal; i try my best to both take and represent the resulting photo as how i was seeing the shot, or i suppose how i imagine my perspective would be if my eyes had the capabilities of some of these lenses (i sure wish my eyes had macro capabilities :D).
i have three cameras i shoot with primarily, although i have a small collection of other ones that don't get used very often but they're still fun to play around with once in a while! in the order of what i use most of those three;
> Ricoh GR IIIx (absolutely my favorite camera i've ever owned)
> Sony a7 Mark IV with a small assortment of lenses (including a Sigma 35mm 1.4ƒ, a Sony 85mm 1.8ƒ, a [broken ;-;] Voigtlander 110mm 2.5ƒ, and a Sony 70-200mm 4.0ƒ)
> Canon FT-b 35mm film camera (SHE'S OLD AS FUCK and still amazing), a Canon FD 55mm 1.2 lives on this camera mostly (but i also have an adapter to use it on my sony! such a cool lens!)
